Choosing the location for your birth is an important decision that will impact your birth experience. We want to help you make a well-informed choice, focusing on your own preferences, health and the needs of your baby.
Options for the Delivery Location
Home birth: Giving birth in your own familiar environment offers several advantages. You are surrounded by personal items in a quiet setting, which can promote the progress of the birth. There is usually less chance of medical interventions. After the birth you can rest immediately in your own bed. We ensure that all necessary medical equipment is available for a safe home birth.
Harderwijk Birth Center: Alternatively, you can opt for the birth center in the St. Jansdal hospital in Harderwijk. Here your birth will be supervised by our midwife and a maternity nurse from the birth center. After the birth you will have the opportunity to shower and, if everything goes well, you can quickly go home where your own maternity nurse will take care of you.

Outpatient delivery – Isala Zwolle
Something different from the birth home, but with us as your own midwife during your birth? That is an outpatient delivery. You give birth in a hospital room Isala hospital, but without hospital staff. The difference with the birthplace in Harderwijk is that a birthplace tries to create a 'hotel' atmosphere, so it is a bit cozier.
Delivery rooms in the hospital
